LightFury Games Announces eCricket – A New Era for Cricket Gaming?

India’s leading AAA game-tech and studio, LightFury Games has announced their new title, E-Cricket, at the GDC 2025 in San Francisco. E-Cricket features cloud streaming gameplay powered by AI and AWS GameLift Streams, and built with UE5. E-Cricket is expected to launch globally in early 2026.

A New Era for Digital Cricket

Cricket gaming is developing rapidly, and LightFury Games is taking a bold step further with its upcoming eCricket title. The studio is aiming to develop a fully immersive cricket experience that goes beyond the average mobile cricket game, and provide real gameplay, competitive potential for esports, and next-gen features.

What Makes eCricket Special?

LightFury Games is making eCricket more than “just another cricket game”. Instead of just focusing on casual play, the developers are prioritizing:

Cross-platform support that allows the community to enjoy the game on all platforms, PC, consoles, and mobile.

Realistic graphics and motion capture animations for a realistic cricket experience.

Esports-ready competitive play with ranked modes, online tournaments, and competitive matchmaking.

Community-driven updates with player feedback that can influence future patches and features.

Why the Hype Around eCricket?

The cricket gaming community has been waiting for an esports title that is more tailored towards esports players. While several games like WCC3, Real Cricket, and Sachin Saga have developed a presence in the cricket gaming ecosystem, most of these games remain primarily mobile first experiences. LightFury’s offering may help bridge the gap between cricket fans and serious esports players.

Cricket is one of the most followed sports in the world, with so many restrictions placed on the sports game industry, there is unlimited potential for a professional quality esports game centered around cricket. If done successfully, eCricket could become an iconic franchise in it’s industry, bringing cricket gaming on par with brands like football (FIFA/EA FC), and basketball (NBA 2K) through esports.

LightFury Games has not yet announced the official release date, but the buzz within the community shows high anticipation. With promises of innovation, realism, and esports integration, eCricket might soon become the game that cricket fans and professional players have been waiting for.
